these 2 new versions of >lets get hot< and >lets get cool< are the result of the original track cool in the pool recorded in my home lab in cologne 1979. sometimes absurdity can become the mother of invention. when i was working on the music of cool in the pool it finally became necessary to search also for a lyric. to my surprise they all seemed to have appeared at the right time and the right place. there is no doubt about it! so, lets get hot and lets get cool together. comes in limited transparent red vinyl!

here a private pressing of 200 copies with some exciting works of mr bottin who is for sure one of the most active producers in the new disco umwelt this year! one super sweet and sexy track called sage oil. disco just dont get much hotter then this. flip side had a track called hot lizard which is a rawer and more masculine piece as many of us might know from the typical italian police series and horror movie scores from the late 70s and early 80s. recommended!

the plastiscines first single barcelona is a pertinent pop rock mix, when karen o (yeah yeah yeah) meets bananarama. an efficient and sexy hit, produced by butch walker(katey perry, avril lavigne, pink) covered with an electro approach by 4 remixers of the moment. first, the french producer lifelike for a clubbing version, followed by londoners chew lips for an electro pop remix. on b side, a version from eat electric and another one from the swiss king of disco, headman.

clone classic cuts continues to dig in the crates to bring back forgotten or obscure records from the past! this is 3 tracks by da posse (produced by hula... one of the outthere brothers... and with maurice joshua, k fingers & martell). strings & its my life are chicagos take on detroit techno... a rare release that sounds like a early derrick may record (think the dance) but maybe slightly more straight forward (as one might expect from chicago). a rare piece in house and techno history since this is one of the rare examples of a record that doesnt show the clear difference between chicago and detroit in the late 80s. this record most likely got produced within 1 year after rhythm = rhythms legendary nude photo and strings of life releases (both 87 and this came out in 88). as extra bonus track we have the groove. a phat bass driven chicago acid track that still rocks it. another fine piece of powerful dance music history back in the spot light!

stone cold classic funky disco floor filler thats stood the test of time. first time ever on 12inch!!! taken from the hard to find self titled lp by tommy stewart, bump & hustle music is the definitive disco funk party anthem. it was recorded in 1976 in atlanta, georgia, and since then the lp has found itself in the play boxes of soul, funk and jazz djs alike. however, its not until now that this amazing song has finally made it onto the preferred format of dance djs the world over – the 45rpm 12inch single. in 1976 tommy stewart was a busy man, working as an arranger, producer, performer and writer for a host of soul and rnb artists. the lp made for abraxas records was the first to go directly under his name, and although it failed to take off locally, the lp soon became known by djs across the world primarily for the club smash bump & hustle music. as it happens that song in particular almost didnt exist but for tommy needing to come up with something quick in order to fill in a gap in the album. conceived and recorded on the spur of the moment, and with backing vocals by isaac hayes singers hot buttered soul overdubbed later, its a superb example of rhythmic simplicity blended with soulful, catchy harmonies. its just impossible to listen to bump & hustle music without a broad smile coming to your face, and when played loud in a club, its impossible not to dance!

side a brings the original sound of chicago acid sharply back into focus, subtly reusing the elements that made those records so special whilst bringing the sound up to date with modern production techniques and banging drums whilst maintaining the wigged out alien sounds of the time- for fans of everyone from todd n tadd to eddie fowlkes to sleep archive. the flip side brings a truly amazing track from rei loci again- playing with all manner of spaced out fx laden elements, and underpinned by the subtle interplay between machines- dreamlike, deep, intense and epic in all the right sense of those words this track sees rei moving into a more mature and complete phase in his production
